Get ready to vote in Frederick!
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4 – right around the corner! Here are some resources to help you be informed and prepared for the most essential of democratic actions: voting.
THE WHAT AND THE WHO:
What offices are on the ballot? Mayor and City Council. In February, the City Council finalized a new district map with five Council districts. Voters will choose one council member from each district and two at-large members.
Who are the candidates? You can find a list of mayoral and Council candidates here. The League of Women Voters of Frederick County has two forums coming up this week:
Tuesday, October 14, 4pm, City Council District 5: Sarah Hempel Irani (D) and Rob Callahan (R), C. Burr Artz Library Community Room (110 E. Patrick Street, Frederick)
Thursday, October 16, 6pm, mayoral: Michael O’Connor (D) and Tom Trott (R), Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ (15. W. Church St., Frederick)
The LWV is also planning a forum with City Council District 4 candidates Scott Lasher (D) and Joe Adkins (R); details TBA. The forums will be livestreamed and recorded. The LWV website has links to videos of other 2025 forums and meet-the-candidate events.
